  1. Carol Says:
OK - my first ever post:

I lounge in the silence of the smothering heat
Unable to schmooze with my notebook or my computer,
My weather-induced lethargy making any creativity a taboo act
To be reissued maybe in September when the air crisps up.

For right now, in this festering fog of humidity
No matter how much I want or try to share myself
Any attempts at penning fresh ideas would be merely a Titanic love
Doomed to produce a counterfeit autobiography,
    A homicide of my soul.
  2. Monda Says:
Carol, that's more than a poem...it's an August heat wave anthem! You must be Down South like me - heat index is 112 this very minute.

    I'm loving this piece!
